How To Make Your Own Black Garlic And It’s Incredible Health Benefits
Checking Your Garlic:
- When your 10 days are up, it’s time to check where in the process your garlic is at. Don’t be sad if it isn’t quite done yet.
- Remove the outer skin from 1 garlic. It should be black. Check the consistency. It should be soft and bouncy. If you cut it open, it should have a molasses-like texture.
- If the garlic is too moist, let it age for an additional 4 days or so. If it appears done, you’re good to go.
Storing Your Garlic:
When you deem your garlic ready, simply store it in a glass jar in your fridge. It’s as easy as that. The garlic should stay good for at least 6 months, if not longer. Enjoy!

We all know there are many health benefits of garlic. We also know that it can give off quite the odor, both on your breath, and even seeping through your pores if you eat enough of it. Not only does blackening the garlic eliminate much of that, it has at least double the antioxidants. Some sources say it has up to 10x more antioxidants. Black garlic can boost your immunity, reduce cholesterol levels, help to prevent heart disease and strokes, relieve respiratory distress, combat colds and flu, prevent headaches, reduce blood pressure, increase metabolism, detox heavy metals from your body, prevent cancer, protect kidney and liver health, and promote colon health.
All garlic has antimicrobial, antifungal, and antibacterial properties. Black garlic ramps up those properties as if it is Super Man.
